线材轧机拥有粗轧机架和与小型型材轧机类似的中间机架。与两线轧制的小型型材轧机相比，这些轧机一般被设计成可以进行高达4线的同时轧制的切分轧制。然而，目前的发展趋势是采用单线的高速轧制。
